Description
The RDI 3000 is a SIL-4 ‘fail-safe’ system, designed to provide protection to track workers from trains entering the worksite and will mostly be deployed together with the ZKL 3000 RC. It has high safety reliability and maximises track access efficiency and significantly reduces costs due to its remote controlled feature.
When the device is activated, the RDI 3000 marks the limit of the safe work zone within the protected engineering track access with a red LED light, a red flag and places a detonator on the railhead. This process is remote controlled.
If a Train or rail vehicle passes the RDI 3000 in its activated mode, the train passes a signal at danger (SPAD) and drives over the detonator causing an explosion. This warns the Train Driver to stop and can also alert the track workers.
The device is operated remotely by using the Dual Inventive app independent of the signalling system. The app provides the user with real-time information to help monitor and control the devices set within a project, giving reassurance that the protection remains in place.
Once the RDI 3000 is installed, it can be left in track for up to 4 years and operated remotely, eliminating the need to enter the track to install and remove protection. This removes set-up and take-down time and costs maximising the amount of infrastructure work you can deliver with your track access.
